Why I Believe Confidence Is the Real Transformation (Not Just Colour)

People often assume that after draping over 2,000 women, I'd tell you the best part of my job is colour theory. It's not. The best part happens in the quiet second after I hold the right colour up to a client's face for the first time, and she goes still, or the smile goes from ear to ear.
That reaction — not the swatch, not the palette, not the technical explanation — is the whole reason I do this work.
What a "Normal" Day Actually Looks Like
Behind the studio lighting and the neatly laid-out swatches, most of my days are pretty ordinary. Gym, walk, coffee, breakfast , then into my home studio to set up — swatches organised, good light double-checked. In between clients there's the less glamorous side of running a small business: emails, ordering swatch wallets, creating content, replying to messages, and writing posts like this one.
I'm AOPI-certified, which means my process is grounded in proper colour theory rather than trends or guesswork. There is a science to all this... Colour theory dates back to the 18th Century.
Why I Started This
I built My Colour and Style because I know what it feels like to lose your sense of style — to stand in front of a full wardrobe and feel like nothing in it is really *you* anymore. That feeling doesn't get talked about much, because it sounds like a small, silly thing to be upset about. It isn't. For a lot of women, it's tied up with much bigger things: a life transition, a body that's changed, a role that's shifted, a version of themselves they miss.
Colour analysis and styling became my way of helping women work through that — not because clothes matter that much on their own, but because how we look and feel when we get dressed genuinely affects how we move through the rest of our day.
What I've Learned From 2,000+ Women
If there's one thing that's stayed consistent across thousands of consultations, it's this: the transformation people come in for is never really about the colour palette. It's about confidence, clarity, and feeling like the woman they thought they'd lost.
Colour analysis, styling, wardrobe audits — they're the vehicles. Confidence is the actual product. I just happen to deliver it through swatches, cleaing out the old version of you from your wardrobe, styling your RIGHT NOW - noth the version from 1o years ago, or the version whn you have reached the goal weight. Shopping for items that suit the version of you NOW.
Why I Keep Doing This
Every so often I get to be part of something a bit bigger than a regular consultation — from styling moments tied to a Bridgerton connection, to a Diamonds Gala, to celebrating small business milestones like Matilda Life's third birthday. Those moments are lovely, but honestly, they're not what keeps me doing this day to day.
What keeps me here is far simpler: watching a woman leave a session standing a little taller than when she walked in.
