Creating a Personalised Makeup Palette

Have you ever stood in front of a sea of makeup colours, feeling overwhelmed and unsure which shades truly suit you? Then purchased items you never wear?

I’ve been there too. Choosing the right makeup can feel like a puzzle, especially when your style and preferences are evolving. That’s why creating a personalised makeup palette is such a game-changer. It’s about picking colours that reflect who you are now, making your daily routine simpler and more enjoyable.

And boy do I have an easy way to choose your perfect colours!

Why a Personalised Makeup Palette Matters

When life changes, so do we. Our skin tone, style, and even the way we want to present ourselves can shift. A makeup palette tailored just for you helps you feel confident and comfortable every day. Instead of grabbing random products, you have a curated set of colours that enhance your natural beauty and fit your lifestyle.

A personalised palette saves time and money. No more buying shades that end up unused at the back of your drawer. It also reduces decision fatigue in the morning, making your routine quicker and more fun.

How to Choose Colours That Suit You

Picking the right colours starts with understanding your undertone. Are you warm, or cool, or maybe just a little neutral? This affects which shades will brighten your face and which might wash you out.

Here’s a simple way to find out:

  • Obviously with a full colour analysis we doscover your undertone. Virtual or face to Face

  • If youre at home amd struggling to find your undertone - compare yourself wearing ornage versus say a pink. If you are warm - the orange will make you glow, if you are cool you will look a little ill with orange near your face.

Once you know your undertone, you can select colours that complement it. Warm tones look great with earthy colours like bronze, peach, and gold. Cool tones shine with pinks, plums, and silvers. Neutral tones have the flexibility to play with both.

Building Your Palette Step by Step

Start with the basics and add colours that feel right for you. Here’s a simple guide:

1. Foundation and Concealer

Choose shades that match your skin perfectly. This is the base of your palette. It’s worth investing time here because a good match makes all the difference. Choose from our Longwear Foundation or BB Cream

2. Eyeshadows

Eyeshadow undertone (cool or warm) should be the same as your skin so we create that 'connection' to your features.. Now we look at eye colour and what can make your eyes pop? For blue eyes, warm copper, rust, bronze and peach tones make the blue appear brighter and clearer. Hazel eyes are incredibly versatile because they contain multiple tones — olive, plum, burgundy and gold work beautifully by pulling out the green and golden flecks. Brown eyes can handle almost anything, but rich jewel tones like navy, emerald, teal and deep purple create stunning contrast and depth

3. Blush and Bronzer

Blush adds a healthy glow, while bronzer warms up your face. Choose blush colours that mimic your natural flush. For bronzer, pick a shade that’s just a little darker than your skin tone. Blush; cool undertone lean towards pinks and warmer undertone lean towards coral/ peaches.

4. Lip Colours

Lips can change your whole look. Pick a few shades you feel comfortable wearing daily, plus one or two bolder colours for special occasions. Use your swatch to really nail (haha you can use it for your nail colours too) your best lip colour

Choosing your colours

Tips for Using Your Palette Every Day

Once you have your palette, keep it simple. Start with a basic look and add more colour as you feel comfortable. Here are some easy tips:

  • Use your eyeshadow shades to create a soft, natural look for daytime. A light wash of colour on the lids can brighten your eyes.

  • Apply blush lightly on the apples of your cheeks for a fresh glow.

  • Choose a lip colour that matches your mood. Nude shades for work, brighter ones for evenings.

  • Don’t be afraid to mix and match. Your palette is your playground.

Refreshing Your Palette Over Time

Your style and preferences will keep evolving. It’s okay to update your palette now and then. Maybe add a new lip colour or try a different eyeshadow shade. The key is to keep it aligned with who you are today.

If you want to explore your colours more deeply, personalised colour analysis can be a wonderful help. It guides you to the shades that truly suit your skin tone and personality. This kind of service can make choosing makeup and clothes much easier and more enjoyable.

Making Your Makeup Routine Feel Like You

Creating a personalised makeup palette is more than just picking colours. It’s about reconnecting with yourself and feeling good in your skin. When your makeup reflects your true colours, it boosts your confidence and simplifies your routine.

Remember, makeup is a tool to express who you are now, not who you used to be. It’s about feeling comfortable, confident, and ready to face the day with a smile.

If you’re ready to start your own palette journey, take it one step at a time. Explore colours, try new things, and most importantly, have fun with it.
